What are Growth Groups?
St James has numerous adult ‘Growth Groups’ of around 6-12 people, mostly meeting in people’s homes. We have daytime or evening groups on most days of the week. Group members read and discuss the Bible together, pray for each other, and for care and support one another. The Bible teaches that the ‘one-another’ dimension of the Christian life, where we are able to serve and be served by others, is a vital part of growing as Christians and building God’s people. Growth Groups are the structure at St James which best provides for this.
Buzz Group is a Christian Group for younger adults with mild intellectual disability. We meet every Wednesday evening during school terms. We play games, have dinner together, and spend time praying, singing, and sharing stories from the Bible. It is led and catered for by a small group of volunteers.
